every third or forth boot up i get a blue screen.."one of your discs need to be checked for consistancy"
I have only had this Hd(seagate) for approx 6 weeks..any help/advice welcomed...thanks.

Which OS is this? Do you let it continue the disk check? If so does it report any problems or errors?

Are you running Windows XP without service packs and have a HD that has been partitioned to its full amount that is over 120GB?
If that's the case, back your data up NOW and then either update to SP2 and low level format and start again or keep it as is and partition in 120GB multiples or less. (You will definately still need to Low Level Format and start again, your data is more than likely going to become corrupt).
I had this with a 160GB Maxtor drive that was partitioned to 160GB before it was sent to me.0 -

I have a 160Hg....Partioned..130/30.I also have the upto date sp2 installed.I shut the pc as normal via start...
What really anoys me is that the operation never finds any errors or corrupted files...why , why mysteries of the universe???0 -
Could be possibly a faulty stick of memory - ive had similar issues before.If at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.0
