No none of them do, with the possible exeption of First Utility with their smart:Dmeters. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Some companies have different replacement policies, my supplier southern for example, changes the gas meters after 10 years.
If you are changing from an economy 7 tarrif to a single rate tarrif then some will change the meter whilst others will simply add the two readings together. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
With regards to electric meters; each meter has a certain number of years where it can be used before it requires either retesting or replacing. For some type of meters, this period can be as long as 35 years.
Once this period expires, the meter tends to be replaced rather than retested. However, from my time working as a meter reader, it appears that some meters don't get either retested or replaced according to when they should be.0 -

I just dont want to get into the same arguement that I did with Scotish power (manweb then)
They were trying to insist that the new meter went on the outside of the house....
The only problem was that by doing so you couldnt then squeeze the car down the drive, at the side of the house, to reach the garage0 -
I swapped my Electricity over to BG dual fuel about 9 months ago, they swapped the meter 3 weeks ago.0

In a few years it won't be a problem for the companies as they will be rolling out meters that text the readings back to base.0 -
You could ask them to put it at shoulder level or round the corner if they want to put it outside. Thanks for the reply...
