  • Well good for you that you can just give up on £9 so easily. Me I'm not so lucky.

The way you've got to look at it, if you're a nice, thoughtful and reasonable person, is that when you lost the reciept, you effectively lost the £9 in cash.

It's not B&Q that you should be annoyed with, but all the chancers who abused the old policy.
  • I'm very nice, quite thoughtful and by and large pretty reasonable.

    And yes, I'm frustrated, but I don't overly blame B and Q.

What grates most though is that I have something I don't want, that is taking up space and that ultimately I will probably just throw away (I may freecycle it but doubt anybody will want a single pack of tiles unless they're tiling a very small room).

    I hate wasting anything.

Me too. How about a charity shop? Easier than trying to shift on freecycle.

i assume you has other tiles installed, why not keep these spare if some others crack or something? you may kick yourself in years to come if you threw them away and you needed some more which b and q discontinued......
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

Yes, nice idea, and one I have done for the tiles I have laid. But these tiles were a pattern we decided we didn't like and were therefore trying to return. And yes, before somebody points out, I know that a store doesn't have to take something back just because I don't like it.

If I was you I'd try returning them to a different member of staff, some are nicer than others.
A few weeks ago we got a refund from B & Q with no receipt on an electrical item.
