Hips4u or Fridays property lawyers?

Anyone used any of these to get hips or sell property?

Hips4u are offering to market it online an take care of viewings..they say their fee amounts to a few hundred than the few thousand that you have to pay the normal 'shop' agent. Friday's seems a bit cheaper but I don't know much about them.

Anyone sold their house via an online agent?

I've used hips4u for my HIp and so far they've been very good and documents seem to be coming back very quickly. Unless you are in a desperate hurry to get your property on the market I wouldn't bother paying the extra £20 'express' fee, they say it could be 12-15 days if you don't pay it but to be honest I don't think it would take that long. They offered me the marketing and conveyancing too and it did seem an attractive price but I said I would think about it, to be honest I think I prefer the idea of using a high street - unless anyone can recommend otherwise?

I think i've said this in another thread, but I would avoid a company whose sole business is HIPs as it looks like the HIP will be abolished come April. This would mean they could effectively go out of business, and potentially leave you in the middle of a purchase/sale completely in the dark.

A lot of HIP-only companies have gone bust recently as we get closer to April and the next General Election

Granted that's dependant on the Tories gaining power, but considering the way things are looking I would be hedging my bets!

The benefit of going with a bigger company (that also does conveyancing) is that they are not dependant on HIPs existing!

I have used them in the last 2 weeks and cannot fault them in any way.
