Weird Request - Thank you letter for Bonus?

First off, apologies if I am posting in the wrong forums but I was wondering if you guys can help.
I received a bonus recently from work (not everyone did) and I wanted to write a brillant Thank You Letter. The problem is I can't type for nothing.
Would anyone happen to have something in their archives or perhaps be willing to write a sharp letter for me?
I would be extremely grateful for your time and help,
Thanks!

Just keep it simple, 'thanks for the bonus payment/it's great to be rewarded for good work/hope to earn it again in the future'. Maybe buy the boss who gave you it a coffee when you go out or something if you feel like it. Try to subtly remind them that it is a reward for the work YOU did though and not just a favour...0

Dear Boss
I recently received my bonus of £zzzzzz.
I would like to thank you for this bonus, it is great to see that I am rewarded for all my hard work over the past x months.
Regards
?

I would just say thanks in person. "I got my bonus, I'm glad you appreciated the hard work. I'll be buying myself a nice new ...... that I needed". If you write a letter you might as well just drop to your knees, unzip the bosses flies, and well...0

I always found 'Cheers Guv' worked.
I'd not shout it out round the office if not everyone got it, or write a letter personally; it's a bit cheesy and if someone that didn't get a bonus sees it could cause more trouble than it's worth.
After all, what is your boss gonna do with it once he has it? File it, bin it, take it home?0 -
Don't do it! Verbally thank the boss if you must but don't put it in writing. I'm sure the extra effort you will no doubt put in because of the bonus will be thanks enough.0

My peers are based in the USA.
An official letter confirming my award was sent by FEDex.
There were 3 people involved in the decision making to award me - Line Manager, Her Manager, His Manager.
I'd like show my gratitude by thinking outside of the box and sending them all a letter as opposed to 3 verbal TYs.
I think it shows I give a crap.0 -

I personally think any letter is complete overkill.
What next - them sending you thank you card for your thank you letter?
They gave you bonus to keep you happy because they need you and they need to show they give a crap about your hard work.
You work hard and as thank you they give bonus. end of.0 -

You don't need to show your gratitude, you are obviously doing a great job for them and the bonus is their way of saying thank you. You don't have to thank them for thanking you, if you get what I mean. I'll be honest, I would find it extremely strange (and a tad crawly) if someone sent me a thank you letter about a bonus.0
