I'm interested in working from home but I'm not sure where to look, I'm aware there are probably a lot of scams so was wondering if anyone knows of any legitimate companies. Just something like data entry would be fine, something computer based.
It would be useful to hear of any experiences people have had.

I was wondering exactly the same thing, I have had a look and even posted a 'job wanted' on gumtree stating the kind of thing I was looking for but all I got back was 'adult' job offers(!) and I'm not sure OH would approve!
If you find anything please let me know, I've tried the likes of elance and other freelance sites for office work (I am a PA and Corporate Services Manager for my FT job) but there are people in countries such as India bidding for the work for 10p an hour which I cannot beat!
You could try the following sites (had a bit of luck off them!):
-peopleperhour
-gofreelance
(sorry as a newbie I'm not allowed to post links!)
Please share if you have any ideas [STRIKE]Saving for a deposit on a flat[/STRIKE]

Thanks, I'll try them out.
I've seen elance mentioned but didn't know I'd be competing with people in other countries who will work for lower wages.
I won't bother posting an ad in gumtree then!0 -
I work at home as an audio typist, but my speeds are fast and it is a specialist field. Why not go onto a reputable homeworking forum and have a look at posts on there, or ask the question on there. Remember of course not to part with any money unless you have good proof to show it would lead to something definite.0

Thanks. I've registered on a homeworking forum, but have to wait for my application to be approved before posting! Hopefully there'll be some useful information on there.0

You can start looking at some freelance sites. there are a lot of jobs available. start with elance and peoplehour (which is a UK based site) as well as odesk. They are legitimate freelance sites and have loads of jobs available.Mr. Mulla0

It's called The Homeworking.com forum. I think it covers lots of countries but there seem to be a lot of people from the UK on there and the events listed are all in the UK.0
