Just posted a thread to check if Vista Home Basic is ok. Its reduced to £269 instore, so it looks like a good deal and should suit her requirements.
Vista Home Basic? Don't even consider it. It must be about 6m old. Any 'new' laptop should now have Windows 7.
Vista Home Premium is the minimum Vista version you would want anyway were you to accept Vista.No free lunch, and no free laptop
