If you have a few trips south of the border to England/Wales its probably worth it but not sure if there's any point if your trips are only in Scotland. Scotland do "Kids go free" tickets, not sure of the terms and conditions for that but I'm sure if you ask at your local station they could clarify if its worth it. In Scotland you get up to 2 kids free with an adult travelling and they must be with you on the return journey. I'm not sure if the 'Kids go free" tickets cover you down to trips over the border, so thats where the railcard would come into play I think.0 -
Thanks for this, will be buying one next week, I was perusing train tickets today and it was £57.50 for two adults, one child and two babies, but after putting in that I had a rail card it took the price down to just under £35, I was impressed. BTW I didn't book the tickets, I was just comparing the prices. Try not to take any notice of the naysayers, you get them everywhere and here is no different.
