I have a Photinia "red robin" in my garden and it has become very tall and a bit straggly. Anyone know when is the best time to prune and is there a particular way of doing it. Sorry I'm a bit of a novice at pruning and I would hate to kill it.

Any time in March is good, but don't go too mad with it, just a light prune, try not to cut the leaves, use secateurs not shears
