• Hi Guys

Just a quick update

I have just recieved a letter from the PPI Customer concearns team stating:
Please can you provide us with the appropraite loan account number (s) that were mis-sold.
I know this sounds a bit daft on my behalf but where would i find this account number? I was lead to believe that this would be my actual bank account number so i had provided my sort code and account number along with the reference number on my credit agreement letter.
Thanks in advance for your replies

Hi there

If you paid the loan repayments out of your bank account, the account number should be shown next to the monthly repayments.
Or
Statements.
Or
If you bank online this should allow you to go back as far as 6 years.

Hope this helps, good luck.;)

• Hi Di

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I have just checked my Bank statements and unfortunatly there is no account number next to the monthly re payments.
I pay off my loan through my Natwest Bank Account so would this not be Natwest Bank account they need?
Thanks again

Hi there

Normally even if you still bank with the bank you had the loan from they supply you with a loan account number, but they can surely track this down for you, ring them and ask them to check this for you.;)
I'm sure they can do this. Good luck, please let us know, cheers. x

Just double checking.
If you have the agreement of when you signed up for the loan, there should be a loan account agreement number on this document.

You could if you have not done so yet, write to request they send you the agreement of this loan, give the date it was taken out, as many details as possible in order for them to track this down, full name, address, DOB, year loan taken out, the amount and so on.
Enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment, and tell them you look forward to receiving this by 12 days.

Hope this helps, if there is no other way of getting hold of the actual loan account ref number, good luck.;)

• Hi Di

Thanks for all your help

I rang the lending team and they actually gave me the details over phone, which i am quite surprised about really as they are never usually so quick to give you any details that you need to know about your own account. Usually if i ring up to ask anything about my loan they want to know why, what, when, how etc!!!
I am going to re send all the details by recorded delivery tomorrow so here goes back to square one. No doubt i will have to wait the full 8 weeks for a reply.
I shall keep you all posted on my progress
Thanks

Hi Everyone

Just to let you know that I received an letter from RBS (NatWest) on Saturday stating that unfortunately they are unable to uphold my complaint as they feel that in no way was the Payment Protection Insurance miss sold to me, however on the plus side they have made me an offer as good will gesture of £5641. They state that they will pay off the outstanding balance on my loan and the rest will be transferred into my current account.
My loan was to actually finish in December of this year so I have worked out that I would have 6 months of £307 to pay this of course being £1842.
I haven’t yet accepted the offer however I will do soon. Can anyone please tell me if I am doing the right thing by letting them use the amount to pay of the remainder of the loan, I am just worried that it may incur extra charges? You know how these Banks have a habit of stealing our hard earned money!!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance for your reply

Hi there and well done on your success.

Right, the option is totally yours now on accepting this or not.

I would go by - depending on how much it would have been if it were upheld and compare the difference to the offer.

Normally if its upheld, they offer the interest as well.

I believe although not certain that RBS is one of those banks alongside with LLoyds TSB Banking Group to be investigated by the FSA for not investigating customer complaints properly, you should see more on this on the above news thread.

So, what you want to do is have a good think on this and hopefully others here will post with opinions as well.

Either way we are with you.
The very best of luck and again good one.:T

Hi Di

Thank you for your reply.

Well i have worked out that this is the full amount to date that i have paid in the PPI as i cancelled the PPI the same day i started this claim so that is the correct amount of money i am due back.
Do you think it would be worth me ringing Natwest to get a settlememt figure on my loan?
I am just worried incase they may charge more for an early re sttlememt. Can they do that? Or would it just be the £307 x 6 months?
Very confused albeit happy with my result
I love this website:beer:
Thank you again
