the qualification for SDP is simple,if you receive mrc or hrc on dla and you live alone and claim i/s then you qualify, alternatively if you live within someone then you dont unless they also rec.dla mrc or hrc then you qualify as a couple
Unfortunately not quite so simple; if you live with someone who is NOT your partner - such as the OP who lives with their father - then neither of you can get SDP even if you both get High rate AA/DLA.
  • i`m surprised at that tbh

I only get mine because my son is still classed as a minor, he has just turned 15, so i'm not sure when they will want to take the sdp away from me

same with me. I live alone with my 14 year old son. Am on higher care and lower mobility plus get income support. My income support amount was doubled as the severe disability and enhanced premiums were added on top. I was luck because I think the DLA automatically contacted income support who sent me a form to fill in.
