Things to do in Costa Adeje, Tenerife?

Hi all, me and the OH are going to the hotel Costa Adeje Gran in Tenerife on Tuesday and we were wondering if there is anything any one can reccommend to do in the area - I had a look on Trip Advisor but the attractions were all spread out over Tenerife. Thanks :)

I hope you enjoy your holiday to my favourite holiday destination.

I stay more in the centre of las americas, but where you are is lovely.

There are some maps here http://www.eurosol.com/maps.htm just click on maps inthe red at the top. I'll tell you where things are by Hotel names..

I would suggest to you that.

1- one day you walk along the coast road into las americas it is a walkway along the beach. It would take you about 1 hour to go far, but it is a lovley walk and there are plenty of pubs to stop in on the way. you will pass the horbour Puerto colon.

2 - Mount Tiede during the day is a great day out. you can book most exchursions can be booked around tenerife.
There are quite a few around Puerto Colon so you should get a good discount here.

I've heard that Mount Tiede can be visited at night. I haven't done this but i may do when i go back next March.

If you do this trip beware don't go in shorts and t-shirt as it is cold. Well you are up a mountain with snow on the top. So take something warm to wear.

3 - an nice meal can be had at the chicken shack in Costa Adeje village. This is up in the mountains. Don't ask me how we get there at night cause we just get a taxi and ask for chicken shack Costa Adeje village. it costs about 10 euros. But it is well worth it.

4 - My most favourite was a visit to La Gomera the island that you can see out at sea. We booked a trip somewhere round the harbour. We paid 50 euros each, about £35 for a full day out.
We were picked up at 8.00am in the morning and went to la Gomera on fred olsen ferry then onto a coach. And a visit around the island. Included is a lunch, at a Gomerian restaurant with a display of the traditional whistling.
I loved this visit. Worth every penny.

5 - The water park isn't that bad.

haven't done the parrot park it doesn't appeal to me.

If you fancy some good nights out get a taxi to San Eugino shopping center will cost you about 6 euros.

Here is my reviews of the bars in this area. you will know where they are if you look at the above maps on the eurosol web site.

Garfields bar starts in the street where Laguna park 1 is. Also here is Snoopys bar, The rum pot, the irish rover then on the corner is San Euginos with the Temple Bar opposit.

GARFIELDS BAR - A good young lad of a compere, but very repatative (thunderbirds) nice bar, lighting to bright for me when the acts come on. Also can be a bit loud.
SNOOPYS BAR- Only went in for 1 drink to see an act, dark bar, compere not much good, woman who could not sing. Didn't stay as act did not turn up.
THE RUM POT - A english type of pub, does bingo a bit of singing and now has turns on. Can get warm inside but there are seats outside.
THE IRISH ROVER - My least favourite of all the Irish Bars i have been in, does live acts, seating not the best, a big bar but very untidy when in there watching an act, there was a fridge next to us, by the pool table.
SAN EUGINES - One of the best bars i have been in, brilliant layout, excellent compere, and it had 3 acts a night on. Be sure to see Lou Rex. Also does excellent food. Stays open until 2.00am or maybe later can't remember.
THE TEMPLE BAR - 2 lads playing Irish music think that they are called Rogue Traders, but not sure as they had the strongest irish accent i have ever heard. And for most of the night i missed what they were saying. Very nice clean bar all done out in light brown wood. Waitress service. Can be hit and miss though, some nights were busy then some quieter. But get your dancing shoes on it has a small dance floor.

Walk down towards the La Nina hotel and you will pass these bars.

HARLEYS - Typical American style diner, but very nice inside even though very neon with it's lighting. Such a nice cocktail was had here.
AMANDAS - you might miss this one it is opposit Harleys a bit further down and you go up some steps to get to it. Visited it a couple of years ago and it had a excellent compere, but this time he had finished and the lady who had replaced him i did not rate. Plus the acts were not in the same league as San Eugines. Inside was very dark probably due to the fact that the furniture is black, but it is very clean and nice. They also do food.
TUCAN BAR - Like a cafe bar it does food also, although never ate here. has white tables and chairs, and the lighting is bright when acts are on . But well worth a visit, especially to see the waiters carry all that beer around on their trays. Spirits are poured in front of you, i like that. There is a American guy that does a excellent act on here, sorry can't remember his name.
WIGAN PIER AND OTHER SMALL BARS - Come out of the Tucan staying on that side walk down to the first road you come to. Look up and you will see a sign advertising Wigan Pier and other bars turn right into this street, then straight left and there is a strip of small bars. Very cheap these are.

Going back to to the San Euginea corner. Walk along the road to the Bouganville Playa hotel and you will pass.
THE PHEASANT PLUCKER - Try saying that after a few. Excellent bar, i like sitting outside. Has 1 or maybe 2 different acts on a night. has a compere who can sing. Get here about 8.00-8.30 to get a seat. Starts of with a quiz for fun. has waitress service and the drinks are really cheap. Can spend a full night in here.
STAR BAR - Not one of my favourites the compere can not sing, and it is a Karoke bar (argh hate it) But the gem to this little bar is that it pays out the most money for Bingo that i have ever seen on holiday. It is something like £80 - £100 for a full house. And about £30 for the line. Well worth a visit if you like Bingo or just want to try to win some cash to then visit somewhere else.

You must visit San Euginos and The temple bar they are excellent. Not to much dosh in a taxi to get here.

Enjoy your holiday on my lovely island. I will be back next march.
