best energy monitor to buy?

I quite like the one I have - it's a Minim. I find it easy to use, it uses very little electricity itself. You can buy them online (Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Minim-Energy-Monitor/dp/B002KDL4MI) but I know that BG gives them away if you go on the EnergySmart/monthly billing tariff. It measures your total electricity consumption in real time, so it won't tell you what an individual appliance is using per se, however you can obviously look at the difference on the monitor to give you a good idea. The kettle was the biggest shock for me!! I've heard good things about the 'OWL' monitors as well. Hope that helps!0
