How long until Purchases are deducted from Bank

If you use your debit card, isnt the value of your purchase removed from your bank account immediately. even if it just changes Balance & available funds.
I spent £11,000 on Monday on my Card for a new car. Its now Thursday and that £11k still hasnt been listed or even deducted from my balance.
How long can these debits take or have a I somehow got away with a free car lol i very much doubt it. Surely they cant be allowed to leave it so long before they deduct. What if I move all my funds out, surely the payment would then be rejected.
Bank is A &L

Anything is possible with A&L I suppose. But - wasn't there a security telephone call? In which case the authorisation / debit is probably being done manually and should deduct by tomorrow.
Having said that .... I've always had the available reduce for that level of Debit Card use. But I don't use A&LIf you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
no i rang them onthe day to tell them there would be a payout leaving as i thought they may block it.
