copper coaxial cable0

any particular name for it?? like ct100 or rg6??0

It will be a dual cable drop brought from the street to the outside of your property.
It comprises RG6 which carries your broadband and tv signal, and a 5mm telephone cable attached to it.
Collectively it is known as RG11, although RG6 provides the broadband feed.

i have ct100 cable, will that do the job?? does anyone know what the maximum broadband speed a ct100 cable can carry?? the reason why im asking this is, because this wire is going to run through walls, so i wanna make sure it can cater for future boradband speeds.0

I see from one of your other threads that you are wiring out with Cat6 anyway.
Your best approach is to let Virgin worry about their own future proofing and you worry about your own wiring.
Have the Virgin line terminate as close as possible to the entry to the property, place the modem or box at that point and wire away from there in Cat6 to your hub.
For your Cat6 make sure that the sparky routes it so that you can use it to pull in fibre or anything which comes along in future, rather than plastering in.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. the reason for me asking is, bcos i am just having my house rewired, and the room i will be using as a study, is where the broadband connection would come into, which happens to be in middle of the house, and i did not want a black bb cable running up the wall and then across, outside my house, so my sparky is going the install a cable (Coxial - ct100) from the study (within walls) to the outside at the side of the house, and leave them naked, so when i install virgin bb in the house, the tech can just connect to that. i have rang virgin weather they would be willing to connect to third party wiring, 2 ppl have said it would be fine. do you see any problems arrising?0

The virgin installer will be happy to use anything, providing his meter will give a satisfactory signal over that distance. The one here used some old Sky cable which was already routed.
I'd probabily just site the modem elsewhere near an external wall, then just have a network cable from the modem to the study.0 -
well i'v made a network cabinet thing where all the socket input socket on the wall taking cat6 to other rooms are sitting, wanted all bb in one place if anything goes wrong atleast im jumping around, but its good to know that they will use anything else!0
