Barclaycard Commercial

I am being offered an employee Commercial Barclaycard with a large company. Although I am not compelled to have one, my credit score is not great and I do not want to add another search on my file or even worse suffer the embarassment of being rejected and then work knowing.
The forms you sign are ambiguous as to whether they credit check the individuals who the company had authorised to have a card.
Does anyone know?

Phone and ask them but the risk is with the company not you.0

You are simply a named cardholder on a commercial account that the company are wholly liable for. You are not subject to a credit analysis but may be subject to an "Identification: Generic Check" just to make sure you actually exist.
This isn't a credit check and does not leave a foot print.
As an example Halifax do an Identification: Generic Check with their Easycash account. If they can electronically verify you, you get it without even having to provide ID. Score is irrelevant. I got an Easycash account a fortnight after being discharged from bankruptcy and the check they did isn't seen by other lenders and doesn't affect your score

Surely if it goes through the company it shouldn't affect YOUR score?0

When I got my AMEX through the company, no credit search was conducted against myself.0

It depends on the terms of the agreement - for my firm's corporate card (AMEX) I am jointly and severally liable for debts I put on the card. If you're not clear then post the wording of the agreement on here and I'm sure someone can help!0
