Hi to all,
Im due to take vol redundancy about june-sept this yr and will be going on a college course asap to learn plumbing and heating once im made redundant, ill be walking away with approx 40k, i live with my wife who doesnt work and we have 3 young children under 6, i have also 3 other children who im paying csa for maintanence..
We are currently living in rented property paying the letting agents £595 per month, im not sure if id get any help towards the rent or any reduction in council tax, ive foned the csa and they say they dont class redundancy as income so wudnt be touching that and as ill be at college i wudnt be liable to pay anything but could make a vol payment if i wished, they said they would claim back pay if i started earning within a year but after a year they wudnt..
We currently get £7 per week working tax credits which we kno will stop but will switch to child tax credits (not sure how much tho), our youngest daughter is eligable for disability allowance which we are in the process of claiming. We would be very grateful of any advice towards what help or benefits we could claim
