Tough Boys School Boots Please.

Can anyone help? Im after a tough pair of school boots. Last year i brought Rockport mweeke I think they were called and they were rubbish. This year i went for Timberland Euro sprint within weeks he had ripped the fronts off, i took them to timpsons and they glued and stitched them for a couple of quid and they have lasted a few months but now out grown. So Ive just replaced them with a pair of CAT boots smooth front, anyway he's had them for 2 weeks and ive noticed the rubber sole has come away from the leather, so yet another pair to be glued.
He is quite rough with his shoes as he is football mad, so is always playing footy in his boots during play and dinner time. But im now looking for something tough!
A few years back he had Timberland Split rocks, but i havent been able to find them for a while, they were pretty good, but as he was younger he wasnt playing football as much
Im sure this is a problem for most parents, so im wondering if anyone has found a good boot that lasts longer than a few weeks!!
He is 8 and a size 4.

can you buy him a pair of football boots and tell him to change them when he goes out to play. he's old enough to know money doesn't grow on trees

Whilst I agree with the sentiments, I guess the OP's next post would be a moan on how he's lost one of his school shoes,lol!
My lad had this problem and we solved it by getting a pair of boots similar to his cadet's parade boots. Not sure where you could get a similar pair though as we got his from an Army surplus store.2014 Target;

can you still get doc martins? my kids used to have them and even though they preferred using the boots as brakes - they still got outgrown rather than outworn.0

We have awful problems with this - 3 pairs of school shoes since September:eek:. And not through growth.
We've now got a decent pair of leather shoes (in the sales) for lessons etc, then DS (12) takes an old pair of black trainers to wear when he's messing around.
Not sure that he actually changes them though but I think the earful he got when the last pair of school shoes broke, is helping keeing the most recent pair tidy.This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
hi thanks for all the messages, he goes to primary school and they dont have a field just a play ground so its there he plays football. school would'nt encorage him to change shoes during break because they all go out at the begining and then back in, straight to the classroom.
I never thought of steel toe capped boots, not sure if they would be suitible for school wear tho.
Ive never seen any plain black walking shoes, if anyone has please let me know. Im going to look into the rhino shoes now, il have a look online.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Keep them coming if you have more.0 -
Typical i was writing the last reply and ordering him some kickers at the same time and then i saw the post about docs! I never thought of those either so im defo gona get a pair for next year and make the ones he got and these kickers last him. If i see an army surplus store i will have a look, dont they use docs aswell?0
