which sky box?

Options
as some of you know on here, i have split up with my oh, and he has moved into a new house, although we remain freindly.

he has a cable for a sky box to be fitted to, so i am presuming that if he gets a 2nd hand box and plugs it in, he should be able to get freeview through this? if this is right, oh is saying that not all sky digiboxes work in all areas? so will it depend on the make?

sorry if my post sounds muddled, but hope someone can advise him, thanks

xx

If he gets a 2nd hand box, from eBay for example, and buys a viewing card from SKY for £20, he will get pretty much the same channels as are on freeview (minus E4 I think, and perhaps not FilmFour either when it launches on freeview)

TBH if the freeview reception is good, a £25 freeview box would be a better option (check reception on http://www.dtg.org.uk/ for an in-depth check)

To answer your question, any standard Sky box would do the job.
