Rusty marks in plaster.....

Some years ago, OH had an 'accident' while trying to fit a cooker extractor fan - he drilled through a water pipe. Said water pipe was also under a tiled wall, so tiles had to come off and plaster removed before it could be repaired. Now we have about 6" of a rusty coloured mark in the replaced plaster - is there any chance it's an indication that something is not well with the repaired pipes? (No, the tiles still haven't been replaced, and I still don't have the cooker extractor fan......:wall:

could be just a water stain , try painting with a stain blocker or a solvent based undercoat , if it doesent bubble up or restain then you're probably safe

Thanks nickj - I've been watching it carefully over the years (he's only just noticed it ;)) and it doesn't seem to have changed much in the last few months.
