Tender fuschias/pruning

I have some very beautiful but tender fuschias in my unheated greenhouse. I removed a lot of leaves when I put them in there and have snipped off the odd piece of branch but what is the correct thing to do now? Do I prune them to about 3" from the soil. I have only given them the odd trickle of water and I do believe I can give them a light feed quite soon.

I would not suggest any pruning until you can see a lot of new growth. 3" seems a bit harsh as they are not hardy ones, I would think that a light prune would be all that's necessary. Yes start a light feed at the next time you water and slowly increase the strength until growing strongly. Any idea the name?

I'd change/investigate the compost, if it wasn't changed at the end of last season, or if you didn't take precautions against vine weevil. Quite often, delving under a fuchsia at this time of year brings to light 'interesting developments,' like almost no root system! It isn't always too late to save the plant though.

Then, as Peter says, I'd not cut back too harshly, and certainly not until new growth is well under way.
