How much should my Elec Gas be per month?
Options
Hi looking for some advice I have never been particulary savvy about conserving energy in the house or shopping around for the best energy deals but was just wondering what I shoudl expect my Gas and Elec bills to be on average each month - hope some of you are able to help here are some details that might be important
4 bed detached house built 2004
2 adults 2 children & dog
gas central heating/ gas hob/elec oven
would normally be empty during the day ( am on mat leave for another couple of months) Mon- Fri
thanks am a bit lost as to what I should be budgetting for this (past bills are not much of a guide as in the past we were pretty wasteful - that will now stop)

There is not a single person on this forum that would be able to accurately tell you what your bill should be based on the information that you have given. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0

Why not just read your meters regularly - it's winter so it will only decrease from now. Why accept our wild guesses when the empirical pudding is there before you? You can use imeasure.org.uk if you don't want to mess about with backs of envelopes or spreadsheets yourself.
But if you want a guess then £75 to £100 per month should be more than adequate.0 -
Very tricky to be precise but we live in a bed (no kids) and spend about £950 each year on gas and elec combined.
We are good at switching stuff off when not needed and don't leave stuff on standby.
During Jan/Feb the gas central heating was on all day.
Hope it helps.0 -

I'm in a six bed detached (radiators switched off in empty rooms) and there are three of us. Gas central heating including underfloor heating in large garden room, electric oven, gas hob, gas water heating.
Mine was about £65 electricity and £135 gas until I switched, it's difficult to say what it is now as I'm on a system where you read your meters every month and then pay for what you've used. I've had it for 4 months and the average over the 4 months has been £199 per month so considering this has been the coldest 4 months of the year I reckon it will be cheaper. I also get a discount for dual fuel and for reading my own meter which will be about £150 over the year based on the discounts so far (given yearly).GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200
