Living flame gas fire

My living room is approx 4m x 5m ceiling height 3.5m

I have one radiator in there and a rather old living flame gas fire.

I'm looking to buy a new fire but don't know know what kind of power/heat output I should be looking for ?

Are there any online calculators for this kind of thing?

thanks in advance

They are usually all around the same heat imput, ie about 6-6.7Kw. This is because once they hit the 'magic' 7Kw figure you need to have purpose ventilation installed into that room for the fire.

Anything below that, assuming there are no other open flued gas appliances in that room, does not need ventilation.

This does not include those death traps, flueless gas fires, which I refuse to fit for ANY price. They need 100cm2 ventilation as standard.
