Flicking Screen

After some Bxxxxxx stole my laptop early hours Monday morning I bought a desktop advertised locally. The monitor is a 17in Proview, but as you look at it the left side of the screen is constantly flickering. I did not notice it when I bought it, but on the user manual it says 3 year warranty from 11/3/04 so it's possibly still in warranty.

Will the manufacturer honour the warranty if I do not have the purchase receipt?

The only thing I could think off is the graphics card could try re-install your drivers & take out the card put back in again. Or get a new graphics card. Or do you have something next to your hard drive like mobile phone, or phone move move them away.

Hard Drive was next to TV, but still flickering when I switched it off, don't want to mess about with the inside of the hard drive.

It sounds like it's broken, but make sure there are no sources of interference next to it , power supplies (transformer), speakers, TV etc, and degauss it using the buttons on the front.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
