BT phone line down - entitled to reimbursement?

Hi, we have our landline & line rental with Sky Talk however they obviously use BT for the line. On 28/2, our telegraph pole fell down & snapped the line, cutting off our phone service. Our neighbour reported it to BT's automated line & we reported it to Sky, who said an engineer might be out 28/2 but more likely 1/3. Nothing happened 1/3 so I called Sky again & they said BT had listed the fault as being fixed asap but had given no actual date as it needed underground works. Sky then called me on 2/3 to update me & said it was still listed as needing underground works. Then 2/3 in the evening Sky called me again (am impressed with their customer service!) to say BT had said it would be fixed by 9/3 at latest.
So if BT do not fix the line until 9th, I will have been without a phone line or broadband for 10 days, hardly a great problem in the scheme of things but I am paying for a broadband & phone service & not getting it. Do you think I'm entitled to ask Sky for reimbursement?

You could ask, but I expect there is some sort "conditions beyond our control / Act of God" get out clause in the contract somewhereWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0

Your contract is with Sky and the fact they're re-renting a BT line to you is irrelevant. If you want compensation, sue Sky (good luck).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
