Balance Transfer with Bad Credit

recently cleared a load of "bad" debt, about 7 defaults in total.

I had 1 CCJ but this was due to a car crash and should now have been removed (going to request new credit reference files after feb 1st to all time for records to be updated)

basically i have about £1700 on one "good" credit card, never defaulted on it, but the apr is high must be 14%+

tried to get a virgin and texaco card, turned down for both (virgin before i knew about the CCJ, texaco since its "sorted"

does anyone know of any companies that offer decent even at 10& balance transfer rates for bad creditors?

also any thing else i can do to start getting my financial life back?

one of my 7 bad debts has re-opened my account, so i'm going to make small purchases on it to try and re-build some of my credit score.
