Recruitment Consultants Ignoring Emails

Can somebody please tell me why some recruitment consultants say they haven't received your email when you've chased them up about a job? It is almost as if they are deliberately ignoring you - and perhaps even being mendacious. This is a horrible attitude to take towards jobless people, and very unprofessional.

probably because they are ignoring you? thing is unfortunately they are humans like us and sometimes they dont have the answer to whatever you want to know so "ignore" it and hope it'll go away!
what do you want to know? if its feedback/ a reason you didnt get the job - they might not know themselves!0 -
The best person that can sell yourself (jobwise) is you
There is no harm in writing speculative letters to hundreds of companies telling them a little bit about yourself and the type of role you are looking for.
Using your local paper might also be another suggestion as mostly it's businesses advertising, bypassing the agency's.
Also you could register on jobsite as that's another site heavily used by businesses and not agency's.
I have been very complacent and way too reliant on agency's but it's best not to be.0 -
It is usually when they say they are going to send me application forms out, but I never receive them. When I email them about this, they don't reply, which usually necessitates my having to phone them directly, whereupon they deny ever receiving my emails!
Very annoying and frustrating. I don't know why these agencies are allowed to stay in business. I mean, just WHAT purposes do they serve in regard to helping the unemployed? All they seem interested in is getting your name on their books, and that's it.probably because they are ignoring you? thing is unfortunately they are humans like us and sometimes they dont have the answer to whatever you want to know so "ignore" it and hope it'll go away!

Mate, you are preaching to the coverted, but you are simply a number to them. If they alienate some people they don't care, there are so many applicants out there that it's best to not really bother with them right now to be honest.0

They have targets to get so many people signed on per week, and at least for you there was a real job that you managed to go for an interview to. I did recruitment very very briefly and left cos I hated the way they treated people! Sell yourself yourself and i'm sure you'll do just as good!0

They have many more applicants than jobs, so unfortunately they only pay attention to who they think are worth working on.0

For what its worth, IME, recruitment agencies divide into two groups:
1. Those that tell it like it is and tend to do what they say they are going to do
2. Those who are always willing to have another cv on the system but couldn't really give a sh*t (this seems to apply especially to agencies who have large clients and don't have to work too hard to keep the commission rolling in).
Having had two long periods of unemployment in my career I didn't even obtain an interview through an agency (nor from the JC either) let alone getting work. Every job I've had I've got through my own efforts. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

Both comments are not what many people who attempt to register with agencies want to hear - but they are both spot on unfortunately.
I have had some awful experiences with agencies and I prefer to bypass them when necessary, however, with some job vacancies, they are acting on behalf of their client(s).
I hate agencies me!0 -
Ignoring people is part of the job description for being a recruitment consultant!0

the error is in thinking they are there to help the unemployed.
they aren't.
they are there to provide candidates for the company that is paying them money, and being polite to you takes us lots of time and nets them no profit. And they have hundreds of yous to deal with. It's not going to happen.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0
