Will A&L, First Direct and Halifax credit check me for a bank account?

I don't want an overdraft with any so can I opt out of that? And if so do they have any other reason to credit check me as I want to apply for all 3 at the same time?

Yes they will as a current account has access to credit facilities regardless of whether you are asking for them or not.0
