Joint Money - Where to put it????

Me and the misses have been banking money for a short while into our joint current account.
But whilst the initial intention was to bank the money now we need some planning advice on what we're going to do with it.
I just can't get any good tips on google on joint investments and savings.
Would you know of any good links?
I phoned Natwest last night and they told me about a joint savins account they do that pay's 1% interest. This is better than we're getting from out current account with Natwest but it's not ideal.
Does anyone reading this have any good tips?

Why not ask on Savings board?
We have a few joint savings accounts, and all accounts were available for single or joint. We had fixed bonds (the current one is with NS&I), we are just opening regular saver with Nationwide (we have our joint account with them). Have a look through savings account, and in the details it will say if you can open the account in joint names.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
