    When you wipe, make sure you do it from front to back, and not from back to front.

    I downloaded dban to my new computer and tried to follow the instructions but no success, old laptop kept booting to windows, but neither mouse nor pointer would respond.

    Error one might need laptop setting to boot from cd
    Error two might need a bootable cd, follow the instructions
    Error three you copied the compressed file to the cd, read the instructions
