Off there next weekend to watch the rugby (on TV - the games in Dublin!).

Any idea of the price of beer in Limerick? I hear Ireland aint the cheapest place in the world.

Hi Paul....only been to Dublin..but you can expect to be paying about 5 .10 e. But the Irish are so friendly you'll enjoy it anyway.

Its not just beer, food is extortionate in restaurants. We were in Athlone last August, paid €175 for a meal for a family of 4 in an Italian restaurant! MIL bought a joint of beef for 8 of us for Sunday dinner and it was €30!

We didn't really find that when we went to Dublin to be honest.

We wandered slightly off the beat and track, away from the tourist traps but still around Temple Bar, and found a three-course meal for €15.

We did eat as somewhere more expensive mind - the Quays in Temple Bar. The food was fantastic but even then, it wasn't what I'd call extortionate. Think the bill came to about €83 (including deserts and two rounds of drinks) for three of us.

I was in Ireland last year and the prices were ridiculous for us poor people who use Sterling! In Dublin it was was about €5 a pint which is about £5!!!!! And I could see the Guiness factory where it was made!!!!

    Good luck.....
