Had no reply yet from EA about my offer on house?

Hi,
Just a quick question. After advice as first time buyer (as you know it can be hard knowing what to expect - learn as you go).
I submitted a second offer (poss final offer too) on a house me and my gf are interested in buying. I haven't recieved a reply regarding if it's been excepted / rejected yet from the estate agent yet!
Now the lady who was dealing with my first offer wasnt in on Monday 1st, but I was told that they would pass the message on to her to deal with on Tuesday 2nd and she would be in contact. I know its only Wednesday and I prob just trying to push it to much, but on offers I have submitted on houses in past, usually get responce same day or the agent would phone me just saying they have left message with vendor and they will phone back when got reply.
Now I have never had much luck with estates in past with them laughing my offers off / saying they have high offers then mine, when they dont / not passing on my offer in one case, as never recieved confirmation in post regarding it even though they said it's been sent too me twice???
Anyway back to question.
How long should I leave it before I contact agent to see the message was pass on to the agent / submitted to the vendor?
I dont want to come over too keen on property as this could lead to the estate pushing for more money from me, but just can't help thinking my luck that the message not even been passed on

They are legally required to submit your offer, in writing, to the vendor within 24 hours of receiving it. You should also get a letter to say your offer has been submitted. However, it's possible they haven't been able to get in touch with the vendor (not uncommon!). Give them a call today, don't worry about appearing too keen as it's their fault for not being courteous and professional enough to give you a call. Tell them you would like to be kept informed of what the vendor is doing, even if they have just asked for more time to think about it. Also tell the agent that you would like a confirmation letter that your offer has been put forward. If the agent can't manage to get this to you in 24 hours, go direct to the vendor and put your offer forward that way. It's the EAs own stupid fault if they lose the business because of it.Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0

My final offer took a week for the vendor to give an answer! Just ring them and ask if there's been an answer yet! I rang up after 6 days and said "I need an answer ASAP". I got it the next day.0

When I sold my last flat, I went out for the day and forgot my mobile on the saturday the offer went in. Consequently I wasn't able to even find out what the offer was for a couple of days. Equally, when I bought, the vendors took several days to think about my offer before deciding to accept it.
Although, reading between the lines in your post it sounds as though the offers you are making are always a long way below the asking price. It might be worth checking there hasn't been some confusion, such as the vendor saying after your last offer "no, I wouldn't accept below £X.00 and your second offer still being below there." Call the agent and ask.0
