Would anyone know the cheapest place for telephone/online sharedealing. I just want to make 1 trade of 250 Alliance & Leicester shares (approx value £2150).

How about using comdirect? I use them and find they provide a good service.
They will charge you £12.50 for the trade and if you get a referral from an existing customer then each of you gets £50, this covers the dealing cost and leaves you £37.50 up.
