Making an offer on a car, how much less asking price?

Hi
I'm car hunting at the mo, have a couple of cars to look at, one I'm really interested in so if I did want to buy it, what sort of knock down should I ask for?
The car is for sale at £1490, I have no idea about haggling :o

How much are similar cars elsewhere? Have you spotted any faults on the car that need repair? These factors determine how much is a good idea to offer, and these are the things to look into. Search on the net for common faults for the car you're interested in buying and how to spot them. Some car sellers will price their cars to sell and are less likely to take any offers (unless they've been trying to shift it a while and had no interest).

anyones guess ...depends how fairly its priced

if its a great car then they might get close to asking price

most people prob try 100-200 ish off

at that price the dealer proably has about 200 ish in that. I would ask for around 350 off and talk from there to meet your 200 off.
