dont use soya!!! it produces hormones in babies that can make them infertile and grow breasts!!!

Well mine are all fine... I think this would need researching further.

Isn't there an aptimil which is partially broken down proteins you can buy over the counter anyway? There are also others available on prescription only if there is a big problem.

I think the baby milks are fine so long as GP/midwife is supervising Caz :)

Anyway, the monster refuses to go to bed without company so I am off there. Goodnight, lovelies.

Found some stuff on the soya

GPs don't recommend using soya-based formula milk because it contains a substance called phytoeostrogen. This mimics the action of a hormone (chemical in your body) called oestrogen and this may mean your child's long-term reproductive health is at risk. Always speak to your GP or health visitor before using soya-based formulas as they should only be used in exceptional circumstances

tbh i was surprised that my cousin just went and changed to soya milk without speaking to GP or HV as all things i had read said only to do so on their advise. but they think it has worked.

i would defo try soem colief though, its the more expensive but does seem to work.
also try holding elliott higher up so he's not as flat.

Abi had reflux and my nephew has a milk protein allergy and we were both told not to use it and that doctors were trying to get it banned! There is a milk called nutramagin(sp?) that is reccomended. If a child has a reaction to milk then they will more than likely have a reaction to soya as it contains the same milk proteins!

oops I thanked a weird post.

Kindof, sounds like you're having a hard time, hope something works. I'd change the milk, but I'm sceptical on how the anti colic bottles work... but luckily I've not had a baby with bad colic, infacol has been enough for Amber.

Just waiting on the kids going to sleep then I can escape back outside for a while.

It's like 92% off or something ridiculous.

:rotfl:Its like me with the MS - I always make sure I've booked my own jobs before I tell anyone else there are jobs available.

Whats with random people posting just to get their post counts up
They only do it so they can post links.

Kindof - Did you give the Infacol a good week before you switched to Gripe Water?
It can take a week before any change takes effect, I know its hard but it is worth waiting a week for things to work before trying something else. I've been there.
If you find the Gripe Water doesn't work then I would really suggest the Comfort milk as a next step. I had to use Infacol for a week, then try the Comfort milk, then the GP gave us Gaviscon which didn't work cos at the time he didn't have reflux, back to Infacol and we finally got somewhere. :)

You can also try winding him before you feed him, feed him so he's sitting up abit, let him spit the bottle out before you wind him. Some MWs say you should wind after each oz but this can give them more wind taking the bottle in and out.
