Help me find nice tiles, travertine look a like for bathroom

I have not found buying a new bathroom at all easy, everything is causing huge headaches. Solid walls being one of them, firstly for taps and now for tiles. The fitting has not even started yet!
Of all the 5 people I had out to quote, not one of them picked up on the fact that the heavy travertine tile I handed to them could be too heavy for my solid walls which they were all made aware of.
I was planning on ordering my tiles tomorrow, but think I'm going to have to find an alternative as I have solid walls that are plastered. I have read this type of wall should only hold 20kg per square metre!
I've worked out the topps tile I had picked comes out over 30kg. I've even been into the store twice talking about my solid walls and them being a nightmare for the taps, they did not question the tile on a solid wall either, maybe I've got it wrong?
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good travertine look a like, that will not bring my house down.
many thanks

Most travertines start in 12mm thickness so will be around 32kg per sqm for 600x400
Most have no idea on weight limits but when we quote we always ask if tile choice has been made
Easy option which we generally do in all out bathrooms is to start from scratch with everything, floor back to joists, walls back to brick, you can then lay 25mm ply on the floor and dot and dab 12.5mmm plasterboard to walls, gives a nice level and flat finish perfect for travertine and other large format tiles. Cost is dependant on company but we would factor this into a 7 day full bathroom jobHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hi OP. I have Micron tiles by by Imola Ceramica:

http://www.onlinetileshop.co.uk/Tiles/Floor-Tiles/Micron/446-Micron-36BG.html (but I got them from our local tile shop for much cheaper)
They weigh quite a bit, (you could probably google the exact weight) and we have naff new-build plasterboard partition walls that we were told couldn't withstand heavy tiles. The tiler said that it wouldn't be a problem though, he just had to be really careful when fitting them.
They're not travertine, but they look amzing, we get loads of comments on them and the edges are really thick and substantial looking so the joins around the window look really smart.

We had massive problems deciding whether our travertine tiles (30x40, 12mm) were too heavy for our dot and dabbed plasterboard walls.
We finally just decided to go for it as and didn't have any problems
We got our tiles from Kudos Flooring. Their price was very reasonable and the tiles were a good quality for the 'budget' tiles rather than premium. Think we paid about £20 per sqm.
However, it did take 8 full weekends to tile all of the walls and floor (with wet room style corner) and A LOT of adhesive to make sure everything was level. I'm very thankful to my Dad for doing it all (he's not a tiler!).
I don't think I'd like to go through that again but it is definitely worth it. Here's some pics .....

Good luck!!0 -
