Is my decorator doing too quick a slapdash job?

Hi
I suspect I know the answer but I just wondered what others thought.
Decorator is redecorating my house as part of an insurance claim. A lot of the door facings had been soaked and a lot of the paint had flaked and on some of them much of the paint could just be peeled off. Decorator quoted for "woodwork to be prepared, primed where necessary then painted with one coat of undercoat and one coat of gloss paint"
Surely on a door facing where virtually all the paint had come off wouldn't you expect a professional decorator to remove all the rest of the areas of remaining paint so all back to bare wood before priming then glossing? Mine appears to have just painted over this so you can see these raised areas of old paint- when pointed out he said it wasn't finished yet they had some filling in to do! Other places where not so much had flaked off- what should I expect them to do?
Any thoughts?

Is it through the insurance company or have you sourced him yourself?0

Who's managing this - You or the insurance company. If the insurance company get on to them immediately and tell them you are not happy with the work and you want someone competent.
If you - you can always tell him yourself and find someone else.0 -
unfortunately I was instructed to get a quote from a decorator and then to find a contractor- I thought the builder/joiner was supposed to be managing it but seems to have come back on to me. So essentially the decorators contract is with me but loss adjuster has told me what needs doing and he agrees the quote and then he arranges for me to get reimbursed by the insurance co.- though of course no money through yet
Been a nightmare and I'm not happy with situation. Particularly when I'm having to deal with all this myself
The decorator makes me feel like he's doing me a favour because he's so busy !!0 -

I'll try but he's a bit of a bully !
But is it acceptable to do skimming, wallpapering and painting with a dehumidifier still running or will it just dry out too quickly?0 -
