I'm sick of things being downsized
Copella is the latest - 1l bottles have been about £1.89 for a few months now. They have now made the bottles smaller to 750ml and just dropped the price to £1.69
Cheeky devils.
This now is not only more expensive but also creates more waste.
I've noticed shloer have done it too:mad:

Snack a jacks are reducing their multipacks of 6 to 4,heard this from their customer services when complaining, the 6 packs will not be in production anymore:mad: manufacturers are doing this alot now, excuses are we would rather reduce size/quantity than raise prices, but usually they do both.0

I am furious about this cynical sleight of hand. The company has reduced its bottles from 1L to 750ml with no reduction in price. They also now offer a 1.25ml bottle for a whopping £2.58. So, where we used to pay about £1.80 for 1L, we now are expected to pay.78p more for an additional 250ml. I think not. I have written to them and also complained to Ocado from whom I received the tiny bottles yesterday. If you're fed up with this, complain! Their website is easily found by typing "copella juice" into Google. This site wont let me post the link.0

Farmfoods have reduced the size of their frozen foods from 1kg bags to 750kg bags and the price is the same.

I complained to copella - here is their reply:
Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding our Copella Juice. I am sorry to hear of your disappointment regarding our recent package and pricing changes.
The reason we have undertaken these changes has been based on intensive Market Research which has shown us that the majority of Copella consumers have suggested that the 750ml bottle is better suited their needs,
Copella consumers from large families have suggested the 1.25L pack is their preferred choice. In light of this, we therefore wanted to reflect our consumer preferences where possible.
By resizing our bottle range, we have been able to use less plastic which in turn has lead us to significantly reduce the overall amount of plastic used on an annual basis. In reducing the weight and amount of plastic used, we have also reduced the amount of CO2 emissions by a significant amount.
All of our Copella bottles can be recycled and we at Copella continually strive to improve on all environmental issues and reduce pollution. As a business we, as well as our consumers are all becoming increasingly environmentally aware. We aim to produce and transport our products in the most environmentally friendly way, and continue to look for ways on how we can minimise our carbon footprint.
We are currently working with the carbon trust to assess the levels of carbon used in the manufacture of all of our products, and would like to assure you we have made a commitment to reduce these levels year on year.
In relation to pricing, Copella Juices recommends a selling price of £1.69 for a standard 750ml bottle of juice, for the 1L it is £1.99 and for 1.25L it is available at £2.59. However as I’m sure you appreciate if a retailer chooses to sell a product at a higher or lower price then they may do so we can only recommend the price, we have found, that most outlets support our suggested prices.
We welcome all feedback from our consumers regarding our products and promotions as this helps us when considering future ideas.
Thank you once again for taking the time and trouble to contact us.

I noticed Mission Deli-Wrap tortilla's have been reduced from 8 in a pack to 7 in a pack.
I buy them to make enchilada's and 8 fit perfectly in my square glass dish, and is enough to feed the family.
I was annoyed last time I made them as I was one wrap short, and had to make an emergency dash to the shop in the next village for another pack. Here I go again on my own....0 -

debj1 - I wrote back too saying the same and asked how it could possibly reduce packaging, surely it would increase it. They simply replied saying sorry I was not happy and that was it.
Noticed the 75ml are on offer 2 for £3 in Waitrose - I bet it gets put on offer a lot as I doubt people will be buying it.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Dusty kitten: I received the same ridiculous reply. I wrote back saying that I couldn't believe that "intensive market research" showed that customers wanted less for more! I think it's great that you wrote to them. As good as this forum is, we need to complain to the manufacturers and supermarkets in addition to informing each other of these rip offs. All the best.0

I wonder how they phrased the question that came up with the answer that 750ml is better than a litre??0
