We have had 2 accounts with Family Investments since our children were born, each is worth about £3000. I have no idea whether the returns are good or not and I don't know how to tell. I am thinking of moving to something I would be clearer about eg ISA or TESSA. I would like to keep this money for my kids to give them when they are 18 or so. I would like to keep paying in each month, perhaps £50 each. What is the most sensible way to do this, and not have to pay tax. There is just too much informatoin to wade through! I just want something straighforward, safe and preferably via the internet, but that isn't so important.
Please, does anyone have any ideas. I just find it all so confusing and I don't have time to look into anything in too greater detail. We are with Nationwide so I could stick with them or go to Abbey or Halifax who seem to give good returns.
Any help greatly appreciated.
thanks.
