PCs to re-cycle

My partner's company is happy to donate a number of PCs to a charity, preferably a charity who actually re-cycles and distributes them to other charities, schools, community groups etc. Does anyone know of a charity such as this?
We would prefer one in the Midlands if we are to deliver, but for someone to collect they could come from anywhere.
Thanks

May be worth the Company contacting local schools direct. I know that would involve someones time but it would give them a bit of local goodwill.
We give ours to the local primary school and even though the specs are pretty low by the time we've finished with them the School is very grateful. Also our local computer shop will take them in and refurbish's them FOC and passes them onto local schools/community groups. Not exactly what you were after but I hope it helps0 -
Hi S-hopping mad,
I donated a couple of old pc's to a charity that can make money from them to pay for eye operations in Pakistan. The chap I went through works at my place of business in Nottingham - I quizzed him as I was really worried about where my pc would be going and what exactly I would be funding (perhaps a bit paranoid) but was happy with the information he gave me. PM me if you would like some more details

A lot of schools both primary and secondary in my area will not take second hand pcs. This is due to having min specs for machines and because of support issues as well.
There is nothing wrong with asking them. But I suspect a lot will say thanks but no thanks.
Is there a local charity or youth group that might find the machines usesful. Maybe for children coming from low income families.
Also try a local college that runs computer maintance courses. They might be able to use them for college courses.

I'm sure you know about being very careful about leaving data on the computer. \even if you reformat the hard drive thos ein the know can still access some of what was there. If nothing of a confidential/personal nature then no worries.:cool:0

Why not pull the hard drives out (or wiper - PROPERLY), sell the PCS on ebay and give the money to charity? Just an idea.0
