Currys - Not honouring offered warranty

I need your help.
We have recently (Feb 14th) purchased an AEG washer/dryer on Currys website which offered a 5 year warranty on the webpage.
Lo and behold, when I went to register the machine online with AEG it only gave us a 12 month warranty.
So I contacted Currys and they are now saying that it was an AEG offer that has expired (last year actually !) and I should take it up with AEG directly.
That is where we are at - I am spitting feathers as this was the very reason we purchased it and now I am being fobbed off.
Any advice anyone can offer ? We haven't got a copy of the webpage unfortunately as you expect these companies to honour what they offer - but I am damned if I am letting this drop.
Looking forward to your help and advice.

Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Esqui - what a star !! Where did you produce that from ??
Currys haven't got a clue !!Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
It's a link on the webpage.
I have to agree though, most of my colleagues wouldn't know where to find it either!!Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Esqui - I didn't realise that you worked for Currys.
Thank you for restoring my faith - why don't your colleagues react / work the same as you.
In email communications lasting two weeks, this was as far as I had got being told that this promotion ran from Aug to Dec 2009 - which is clearly untrue. What's the point of having customer service staff ?
If I didn't use this website, I would never been able to prove otherwise and would have missed out on the very reason we bought the washer / dryer. It gets very depressing having to fight for your rights at every turn.
Esqui - once again, thank you very much.
Ps I did put on my original email to Currys how good the delivery guys were too !
BTW, do you work in HH ? A relation of my other half works for them in HH !Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
They're not sad enough to spend hours searching through our intranetThank you for restoring my faith - why don't your colleagues react / work the same as you.
There have been about 3 'waves' of the AEG warranty promotion. One lasted till August, one till December, and the next one started back up..till May, possibly (not sure). In email communications lasting two weeks, this was as far as I had got being told that this promotion ran from Aug to Dec 2009 - which is clearly untrue. No, but I'm part of the staff panel, so I go up to head office every so often.Esqui - once again, thank you very much.
