Adobe Reader 10! Warning

Beware. I got a pop up saying "update to Adode Reader 10" It looked very good and would have caught me out had I not just updated Adobe Reader 9. Obviously a scam.
Sorry I have no idea where it came from so can't give better information.

Thanks. Latest version is 9.3 at http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/ - not that I use the wretched thing.

You sure it wasn't (Adobe) Flash - that's on version 10

Why the hell does anyone use that bloated POS when there's cool PDF viewers like Foxit to be had? My main PC is pretty prehistoric now in comparison to todays gear, but removing Adobe speeded it up ten fold. Foxit reader is tiny in comparison and does exactly the same job but in a tenth of the time. Comes with a seal of approval from me. :)

i remember when they started releasing adobe reader 8 and it totally bringing out old windows 2000 workstations to a complete grind, never used it since then, except on the terminal server, which was the only machine that had the beef to actually run it without much trouble.

No, definately reader. What made me suspicious first was that it came as a pop up on a site that didn't have pdf files. Nor, for that matter did it have anything likely to use flash. Well nothing visible.
