MS Updates: how to determine safety, conflicts, etc.

Hi,
I have quite a few updates I've put off installing, as I'm not sure whether I really need them or whether they could conflict with something already installed.
I could make a Restore Point before each one and roll back to the 'pre-installed-update' version of XP, if something bad happens, but I haven't ever tried 'rolling back' and don't want the hassle.
Is there a resource that lists all the updates and any reported problems, that I could check a few days or a week or two after the updates become available?
Thanks.

Three places you could probably try Forums, Search Engines and Research Sites
You can use google to search for the results or packages
Use support forums to find info (e.g Nvidia for Graphics, or MSDN too)
- MSDN is for developers so a good place to look as they post bugs often, it's what Microsoft use for identifying bugs too so it's active
Resource bases such as Microsoft Technet.
The only other option is testing is getting a virtual machine (sandbox) or a spare computer built up install the updates and try to break it
