Kitchen Worktops & Sinks???

I have just purchase a new set of kitchen units from focus as they had a 50% sale on, however we did not buy the above for the lack of choice.

Can anyone recomend good/cheap places for both,
we don't wish to break the bank as the whole project is being done on a shoe string!

Many Thanks

Have you tried B and Q or Ikea?

Yep, try B&Q, Wickes, or a builders merchants such as Selco.
If you want cheapest then mass produced off-the-shelf is the way to go. Could also try eBay, got our Franke sink from there at half price, and was located next to where my friend works so he picked it up saving postage.
  • are franke that good then? I never heard of them untill i wanted a new kitchen now all i hear is franke this franke that!!!

Ebay have a 1.5 Franke sink with tap for £129 and its a shower head type tap that you pull out!!! crazy:rotfl:

I have a Franke 1 and a half bowl inset sink, it is lovely brushed steel and deeper than the sinks in Wickes.

we also just bought our kitchen units in the focus 50% off sale... we bought the basic sink there too.. £39.99... and the worktop from B&Q for about £25 (basic grey one but goes nice with the cupboards!)

BEST bargain though... the tap... THIS ONE which as you can see is £129.00 in B&Q.....we got it for £22.85 inlcuding postage on ebay!!! (searched ebay first... bought it... THEN saw it in B&Q and nearly died at the saving we had made!!)

That's the catch with these superstore's kitchen sales. They knock the price of the doors down, and make the money back on appliances, taps and handles. I bought ten steel bar handles on eBay for less that 70p each (+p&p) from a guy who had 100's for sale. :T

The exact same ones in B&Q were £7 each!

Also the mfc (melamine faced chipboard) base and wall units they sell are mass produced for pennies.

Where did you get your handles from?
I'm in the market for some myself.

Did you have any problems fitting your kitchen? I have just realised they do not have adjustable legs
