As long as Google continue to improve on their $6 billion annual profit (and while people refer to searching as "Googling"), nothing is going to change.
We have the power to change things - try Yahoo or Bing for a week - Google isn't the only search engine out there0 -
Google isn't the only search engine out there
I agree with you there, but sometimes the power of word of mouth is the main culprit..............google is just benifitting from that0 -
It is certainly not the fault of the individual but it is a responsibility they have to accept as their choice to use the site was made by a dubious. I would be very surprised if there was a government department or agency that does not have .gov in the web address (an official prefix to indicate that the organisation is operated by the government). It is unfortunate but no crime has been committed and there is nothing you can do. It is not unlike the stolen money situation however the victim has to accept that once the mistake has been made there is no way to take the money back.0

As the saying goes - a fool and their money are easily parted......0

The DSA would be aware that the same credit card these 'scam' sites are using is being used for lots of bookings for people from all over the country.
Also use the Adblock Firefox addon, it blocks out the Google bribe links at the top of search results0 -

Ok, say for example you have a mother/grandmother who is quite elderly and infirm. A nice young man comes out of the blue to visit building a relationship with them each day, sitting down and having a cup of tea together for an hour or two. Eventually the nice young man sells them something they do not need for an extortionate price, for example an electric moveable bed for £10k.
Would your mother/grandmother be a fool for buying?! Or would you see it as the scamsters taking advantage of a situation?0 -
If people are really that concerned by this scam and wish to contribute in order to help prevent others being suckered in, I am sure they could pay to put their own adverts on google linking to a page detailing the scam. People are only likely to find posts like this once they have been scammed.0

None of these companies are " Rip Off " merchants, they are offering an alternative service at a premium price, nobody is forced to use their services.;)0

I booked my Theory and Practical test via the DSA. I wouldn't have booked with any other company. If people want to pay extra then thats their choice. My instructor told me where to book when i mentioned to him that i was going to book them. Surely other instructors do too but after that then as I have said if people want to spend more then let them.0
