Its pretty obvious that restaurants make massive markups, but the other poster was taking about electrical and retail shops. Restaurants can sell a £3 bottle of wine for over £10! All service industries make large profits but they still have to pay for the staff / shops / bills etc.
I would be surprised if ANY retailer makes more than £5 to £10 on a £100 console. That is why there is no competion on console prices, even foreign/Jersey websites such as Play.com and don't pay VAT charge £95.
If they were only paying £50 for them there would be plenty of places knocking them out at £60 and still making a decent profit.0 -
