Have a look at the Panasonic range. Possibly pricier than Phillips but imho a lot better. Panny's also offer the option of timeslip recording (you can watch what you are actually recording). The only negative is that if you have a lot of DVD+r's I don't think the Panny will play them. I have a DMER 30 which definitely doesn't play +R.
Have a look here http://www.avforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=113 for some knowledgeable advice re DVD Recorders0 -
I got the Liteon 5006 and has so far been a good recorder I am unsure if Curries sell this though.
No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you0 -
I have just started to have a look arond and am reliably informed that you would do a lot worse than taking a look at the Liteon 5045 Which has a hard drive/timeslip ect plus plays + & - formats. Roughly £330 if you do a search on kelkoo.
Cheers,
Pete.I'll get me coat!0 -
Dixons online are selling the DMR E55 for £189 - try and get them to do a swap for you or demand your money back and tell them you will buy on line. That is a bargain at that price
Whatever you do don't let them talk you into taking the cheap Liteon that they sell as it only does +R.0 -
Thanks for your replies, have got to go to curries to get my money back, so will have to take it from there when i have the money in my hand!!0

Richer Sounds have the Panny E65 (i..e just above the E55 not sure on differences but think it's got more inputs etc.) for £229 currently0

The E65 at Richersounds is also Multi Region at that price - Another Bargain0
