Just had to express how refreshing it was to contact a support line and get the most helpful person via these phone services l have ever had. Didn't attempt to baffle me with lingo, allowed me to explain fully what the issue was and was brilliant talking me through the process over the phone.
A thanks should also go to sayonto0870 for assisting me is saving the cost of calling a 0845 number

Can I also praise the Samsung technical helpline. We had a problem with our NC10 notebook (which we love) - excellent customer service and help. Samsung clearly employ people who know their products and know how to deal with customers. Would definitely recommend.0

It must be that you actually get through to a person who exclusively deals with Samsung products. Well done to them.
Unlike the Vax carpet cleaner people. I had a query and rang their helpline at 9.15am on a Sunday morning. I was told I was thirteenth in a queue - at 9.15 on a Sunday morning ?????
I did not bother to hang on - it must be a helpline used by a multitude of companies, so the chance of getting any in-depth help was minimal - they would just be reading off a flowchart sheet - next caller would be asking about a problem with a games console.0 -
The people on the Samsung line are wonderful.
If you have a DVD player/Home Theatre Kit/Blu-ray player and they say it needs to go to their repair centre in Manchester, though....run like hell. Or rather, expect to wait several millennia.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

That's probably the same Manchester repair centre that my 4-week-old E-machines computer was returned to and they said that they couldn't get a hard drive for it - I told them to nip down the road and buy one off the shelf at PC World but in the end they just gave up and E-Machines (Acer) gave me my money back.0

Visual Service Centre?
The people on the reception desk there are helpful as anything, but they just don't have the repairmen available to cope.
Samsung is Korean for "Your DVD player we've had for four weeks is still awaiting inspection"Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Looks like they've upped their game since my NC10 fiasco over a year ago.
I've never encountered such blatant outright lying and rudeness ever from their Scottish helpline - resulting in being given the runaround and no netbook for over 2 months due to their ineptitude and lies (see my old thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1368097& if you're interested and that's not the only thread on here along those lines.)
All kind of forgotten now as my NC10 is great and I use it daily.0 -
Nope, they haven't. I've just had my camera repaired under warranty. It stopped working after 5 months. They were helpful over the phone initially right up until getting the camera repaired. However they replaced the silver barrel with a blue one, now my camera is multi-coloured. They have told me it's not their fault THEIR repairers use a blue barrel instead of silver and as the camera works there's nothing more they can do?
