Storage heaters

Hello
We have 3 Creda storage heaters fitted in 1992/93. A few weeks ago one of them stopped working, a bit of investigation by my husband showed a melted piece of solder which we were told was a thermal fuselink. A replacement was ordered and fitted and heater has worked fine up until last night when the heater failed to store any heat again. We've not had chance to take the cover off and have another look to see if the thermal fuselink has meted again, but if it has does anyone have any idea what the likely cause could be and if it will be easy to repair?
Thanks for any help - appreciated!

Has the heater been getting very hot, if so possibly input stat stuck in on posiion allowing overheat and thermal fuse melting. The input stat contacts often arc and a high spot forms so that they cannot open properly. A quick file with a nail board or contact file usually fixes.0
