Hi there
Do not worry about the 6 year time limit, as long as you have documentation behind you then go for it.
I take it you have not started a reclaim letter yet then?
Was it FP that actually set up and arranged the loan for you, or did you use a broker?
You write to the ones who set this up for you by giving them 8 weeks in full with your reasons.
More here with the guidelines of reclaiming, with useful info, template letters to help you through this, mis selling checklist and so on.

Now in regards of copies of phone calls, it could be that you will not be supplied with a recording copy, but in written transcripts instead.
So is there anything within the SAR of written telephone transcripts, with dates/times etc?
Good luck with this, please keep us posted and ask for help anytime.

hi di,
in answer to your question....
it was FIRSTPLUS who i dealt with directly,
There are only times and dates of our phone calls in the SAR, no details or transcripts.
should I just wait for their reply and see what they come up with before i start the reclaim letter?0 -
Just for the record Firstplus with GISC members since Nov 2001 so I was told by FOS so if your loan was taken out since then then FOS would beable to deal with it against FP.is the 6 year time limit a problem when reclaiming ppi back,i am only a week away now and worried about what to do next. Hi there
It is up to you, if you want to wait to see what comes back first, how long have you given them to send you the remaining documents you require? The one and only "Dizzy Di"

after 6 years my memory is vague over the phone clls,
but could they use the records against me if they later prove certain aspects of my claim to be wrong?
also, the whole transcript things very dodgy i feel.....open to abuse, put things in, take things out !Is it really as good as a recording?0 -

I think because its been 6 years you had taken this out, it may be unlikely they will be able to provide a disc recording of the calls, but please do not quote on me here in case I'm wrong.
With written transcripts, basically, its the dates of calls made, what the call was about and the times of start to finish.
My Lloyds TSB were like this (written transcripts), however mine did help, also with Nemo personal finance which here was a recorded disc.
You have your reasons here, so try not to worry, all loan companies try to cover themselves, but with your reasons, they must still be considered, so if it went as far as the FOS, they will take a look at both sides.
They have dealt with many complaints in regards of this company, and I believe many have been in favour of the customer, these polices are frowned upon by these, a total rip off, for being sold one of these policies in the first place is a good reason alone to make a reclaim. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I'm in a similar situation with Firstplus..i thought the PPI cashback was not so much refundable but,if i stopped it for any reason that it would come off my monthly amount payable. Is that a misselling claim?0
